Bar Review: Birdees

Birdees is one of those bars that is lively and fun anytime you’re looking for a good night out. Situated at 608 Ann Street in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, its central location leaves you near a plethora of other bars and clubs if you feel like a night of bar hopping!

The atmosphere is awesome when the night is in full swing (usually about 10pm on a busy night) and drinks aren’t too overpriced, unlike many places. I mean, we’re students and our idea of an expensive drink is one that costs us $8! There is a large dance floor inside right beside the bar which is perfect for you to strut your stuff.

To make it just that little bit unusual, Birdees also has a pool, which is great for those middle of the day, chill-out sessions in the middle of summer! Outside, you have the pool and a large, undercover area with tables, a second stage and bar, and booths. Upstairs inside, it’s way classier, with a third bar and fancier furnishings.

The bar staff there definitely aren’t the friendliest that I’ve come across, however I’m going to say that  they might have just been having a bad night.

Oh, and did I mention you can buy your drinks in buckets? Yeah! You know those buckets that you use to make sandcastles? Them!

Overall, if you’re looking for a fun night out, hit up Birdees! I’d give it 3.5 stars.
